Here are the cupcakes I made for Ty’s end of the season party. The grass looks more like hair to me, but I still think they turned out good. Unfortunately the Dragon’s ended up loosing their last game of the season 4-1. But, I don’t think it bothered them too much since the party was right after and how can you be down when you have pizza, soda, and cupcakes, AND you get a trophy!! All in all it turned out to be a great day!
Just another day….

I want to say thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes; they mean so much, especially to an old woman such as me!
Having gone out for my birthday last weekend with Mark, Tuesday was a pretty quiet, simple day. The kids and I did some shopping and just hung out at home. When Mark got home from work we went to Bahama Breeze for dinner. AND, much to my surprise, Katie showed up! I guess the two of them had the whole thing planned. It was so great to see her since I hadn’t seen or even talked to Katie since Christmas. You look great sis!! And thank you for spending the evening with us; it means more to me then you know!
This Saturday will be Tyler’s last soccer game of this season. After the game the team will be meeting at one of the parents houses; our neighbors Bret and Jorie. We will have a little pizza party for the kids and give out their trophies. I am in charge of making the cupcakes. I will try and post some pictures on Sunday. The next soccer season will begin sometime in mid-March. This time we have Ty and Chayse signed up. It will be interesting to see how the schedules fall for both their teams. I am also looking forward to seeing how Chayse likes playing. I already know that she loves her dance class, but we will see how she does with playing a sport. We figured that we would try and expose her, and Ty, to as many different activities as possible in hopes that they will find what they really love. So, we’ll see. But, for now my main focus is the party coming up this weekend.
I also want to wish Perri good luck in her season opening softball game this Saturday. Go Perri!!!
Valentine’s Day & Birthday all in one.
February 17, 2008 at 10:18 am (Mark, birthday, holiday)
Mark and I went out last night to celebrate Valentine’s Day and my birthday (which is the 19th, man I’m getting old!!). Anyway, he usually combines the two since they are so close together and that’s fine with me because he usually does something really good. This year was no exception. He completely blew me away and got tickets for us to go and see Phantom at The Venetian! It was amazing!! I was excited to go and see the show, but was not sure what I was going to think. I had never seen Phantom of the Opera or the movie, but I did know the basic “story” of them. I have never been to see an opera before and was nervous that I wasn’t going to be able to follow the story line. But I have to say I totally got what was going on and found myself literally on the edge of my seat for most of the show. It was one of the best nights out we have had in a very long time!
Our neighborhood
February 12, 2008 at 5:54 pm (Chayse, Friends, Tyler, neighborhood)
I just have to make a quick post saying that I LOVE our neighborhood! Right now as I type this and for the past 1/2 hour there has been at least 7 kids (including our two) outside playing together. All live on our street and all are wonderful kids. I can hear their laughter coming in through the open window……I can hear them driving around in the power jeep……I can hear them zipping by on their bikes and scooters……I LOVE this!!!!
Sad news today
February 12, 2008 at 9:58 am (Friends)
I just found out today that some very good friends of ours are going through a bad medical scare. I have to say that my heart is breaking for them. They are some of the most amazing people we have met since we moved into our new house and I can’t imagine what my life would be like without them as our friends. It’s strange how your day to day life can come to a complete halt when you get bad news. I know that I can’t really do anything to help them but to hope and pray that they make it through this time quickly, healthy, and strong. I love you guys!!!
Happy Friday
February 8, 2008 at 1:54 pm (House, Tyler)
Happy Friday all! I am glad it’s almost the weekend. It seems like it has been a very long week. Probably since I was trying to get back to my routine after Ty was sick all last week. Speaking of routine, Ty is back to soccer practise tonight and will have his game tomorrow. This soccer season has been pretty strange. The very first game of the season was rained out, I missed the second game having just had my wisdom tooth pulled the day before, and then we missed last weeks game because of being sick. I am really looking forward to tomorrows game. It is supposed to be 64 degrees tomorrow and should make for a great day! I am going to try and remember to bring the camera tomorrow so I can upload some pictures of my little man in action. He likes the sport so much that he has decided to decorate his room in a soccer theme. I actually found some really cute items at Home Goods this week. I found a soccer ball mirror, soccer ball magnet board, and two soccer ball corner shelves. All of them are covered in white and black leather. Ty is very excited about finding them and can’t wait for Mark to hang everything up; hopefully we can get to it this weekend. Wish us luck that we win…..Go Dragons!!
Driving myself crazy!!!
February 6, 2008 at 10:36 pm (Chayse, House)
For the most part of Sunday I was on the computer surfing the web for bed sets for my daughter. Not long ago we bought new furniture for her room and I want to start decorating it. So, really, how hard can it be to find a cute bed set for a 3 year old little girl? Well, in my case, very hard!!! I was on the computer for hours…..I think four, non-stop, looking. Seriously, four hours, and the only reason I got off is because Mark MADE me. I kept emailing pictures of different sets to my mom and friend in CA to get their opinions. Then, once I got them I would go right back to looking and send more. Now, before I go any further I want to say THANK YOU to both of them for not coming through the computer and knocking me upside the head. I love you both!! Ok, back to my story. So, like I said, Mark made me get off the computer and stop looking. Then, Monday came and what did I do as soon as I got home from taking Ty to school….that’s right, bed set hunting. I had found a handful that I liked, but the one I LOVED was just not an option. It of course was a set from Pottery Barn and one that they don’t even sell anymore; I found it on eBay. A 9 piece set for only the minimal price of $400. Now, again, Chayse is 3. I love the bedding in Pottery Barn, but not that much. So, the hunt continued, but the bad thing was I was so in love with the other set nothing else was good enough. Finally, I just got up from the computer and actually turned it off so I couldn’t go back to continue looking. Now Tuesday comes. Ty is off from school (he is only in preschool and only goes 3 days a week), so I load Chayse and Ty in the car and off we go…..looking at bed sets! Are you starting to see the neurotic pattern here??? Anyway, after looking at who knows how many stores I finally just buy a set from Target that I had looked at, but just wasn’t sure on. I brought it home and thought I would just lay it on her bed and see what I think. Well, I thought it was nice, maybe a little to old for her, but it looked great with her furniture. Then in comes Chayse…..”Mommy I LOVE my new bed, it has beautiful pink flowers on it. Can we paint my walls pink now?” She hugged me and left the room. Decision made!
Funny how all it takes is the words of your child to bring you back to what’s really important.
New flooring?
February 2, 2008 at 6:25 pm (House, Mark)
Mark and I have been in our house now for just over two years. The house was a resale and was already one year old when we bought it. It came with the worse carpet ever; I mean how can you have a house with light tan carpet when you have two kids and a dog?! Mark told me that we would replace it someday……now, someday to Mark is never if he can get away with it or until I nag him enough that he finally gives in. Well fokes he has given in!! Yeah. We are talking about getting new flooring sometime this summer. Since my husband is such a planner, especially when it comes to the cost, we have already started to look at different options. We have narrowed it down to four at this point…..laminate, engineered wood, bamboo, or tile. We both love the look of wood floors, but in Vegas you just can’t us “real” wood. All the floors under the carpet are concrete and most of the time tension concrete, so whatever you put down has to be glued or a “floating” floor. If we go with tile we would want to fine some that looks like wood and has no grout lines…..I hate grout. Well, having done some looking today, I am leaning towards bamboo. I really LOVE how it looks, but am concerned that it may not look good with the cabinets in the kitchen. So, my thought on dealing with that issue…..stain the cabinets! Mark actually listened! AND, we even talked about replacing the kitchen island with a bigger one since there is room. Ok, what I want to know is “What happened to my husband?” Can he really be considering doing ALL these changes? Now, don’t get me wrong, if he is really ok with doing all this to the house I am all for it! I love the layout of my house and I love the neighborhood, but would also love to put my own touches into the house. So, for now, we will continue to discuss “options” and we’ll just see how it progresses from there. But, I keeping my fingers crossed that I get what I want!!
So the journey begins….

Ok, so I have finally taken the step to start my own blog. I have been thinking of starting one for quit some time now, but never took the time to investigate it and besides who would want to read what I had to say?! But, after having found out that one of my good friends had started one and LOVES it, I decided what the heck. Not living close to most of my family, or my husbands family, and as crazy as life can get, I hardly ever have time to keep in touch with everyone as often as I would like. So, that’s what this blog is mainly going to be for. Maybe now my mom will know what is going on with her grandchildren!!
